Down the Trail ... Around the Island ... On the Ice ... And Back Again

Our home overlooks a little bay.  Our backyard is wooded and a trail winds down the hill to the bay.  In the winter, the leaveless trees give us a view of the fishing shack littered bay and "Cemetary Island" which is exactly that - an island designated as a cemetary ... and refuge to the local deer.  The island separates the bay from the lake beyond - and this past Saturday, the boys, the dogs and I all headed down the snow-covered trail to the frozen bay and took a walk around cemetary island.  What a marvelous feeling to walk on water - the very water in which we fish and boat in the summer.  The kids particularly liked looking for - and inspecting - old ice fishing holes.  The weather was perfect - the sky blue, the ground white, the sumac red, and all beautiful.

  6. Hey all - yes, yes, yes!

Yes - it was cold, fun and beautiful!!! :-)

inked33 - those were my faves, too!!! You clearly have fabulous taste! :-)

Pennie - I've got a Kodak EasyShare Z740. It is NOT the best camara I've had - I liked my Canon the best, but it was ruined by the sand in St. Barth's (my fave trip ever!) Anyway - the camara is so-so - it is the editing that makes these look like anything special. I use the free editing site, www.picnik.com - check it out! You can fancy up the most everyday of photos!
